Aramid

Aramid paper honeycomb is a very light and strong product, composed of layers of aramid paper pre-formed into a honeycomb structure and impregnated with a high temperature resistant phenolic resin. This structural core is used as reinforcement in numerous sectors such as marine, transport, automotive, aerospace/defence, where there is a need for lightness and strength. It can be bonded, with epoxy resin or other specific adhesives, between two pre-constituted laminates by manual, vacuum or similar lamination, or it can be inserted between the outer skins in processes using prepregs and film adhesives. The stability of the aramid molecular structure can guarantee not only high mechanical properties, but also excellent electrical insulation characteristics.
