Glass fiber
Glass fibre is used for the production of composite materials, low-cost advanced structural materials in which several components are integrated to produce a finished component with superior physical, mechanical, chemical and aesthetic characteristics. Widely used in the production of structural composites in the industrial, nautical and automotive fields, associated with different matrices, e.g. polyester or epoxy, but still synthetic resins. Glass cloth, glass fibre, fibreglass or glass cloth are all names used to describe the glass fibre reinforcement implemented in many of today’s advanced composites.
