MAT – CSM

Chopped strand mat, commonly called, MAT or CSM is a non-woven fabric composed of glass fibre filaments cut in a uniform manner but distributed in a randomly oriented order on a plane. This laminate is, however, considered as reinforcement par excellence due to its excellent tensile strength and high tensile strength, as well as its extremely low commercial cost. A characteristic feature of glass fibre mat is its high wettability with polyester and vinylester-based resins, making it widely usable in hand lay-up within open moulds. This product is mainly used in the nautical sector and in general for the production of moulds and fibreglass components, even very complex ones.
