Matrices
Resins are used for manual impregnation of reinforcing fibres, for infusion or injection and for filling or casting. They are used as matrices in the manufacture of models, moulds and finished products.
Gelcoats originate from the same chemical bases as resins. They are composed of a resin mixed with inert fillers and possibly pigments that give colour and consistency, and an agent that confers the necessary thixotropy; skincoats, basecoats, topcoats and primers normally always derive from the same bases, but are readjusted according to the final use and the characteristics that the product must have.
Adhesives are considered fundamental for most industrial processes both in the field of composites and in different fields (metals, construction, industry) and can be divided into different categories such as structural, spray and film adhesives.
